"ON MY WAY home" via LINZ & NURNBERG
Austria and Germany.
13.09.2021
Linz and Nurnberg were two overnight places on my way home from a holiday
in Bulgaria. Linz is in Upper Austria at altitude of 266m, on the river Danube. Linz
is a smart and tidy place. On the edge of town is Postligberg, a small mountain.
I took a tram to the top, here is the Basilica and Zoo plus a great view. In town
i had a lovely meal in the garden of Klosterhof restuarant/pub. -- Linz was the
home of Mozart, Beethoven, Bruckner and Hitler, not at the same time.! Hitler went to school here. The train
to Nurnberg Germany took nearly 3 hours direct.
the train in Nurnberg i stayed at an hotel nearby. - Nurnberg is in Bavaria Germany,
the old town is known as Altstradt . -- Most of the centre was destroyed by the Allies in 1945 in WW2 It is a nice place, with a castle, market place and churches, having been beautifully restored. Nurnberg is known
for the Nazi rallies, and the Nurnberg trials after the war. ---- I left Nurnberg by
train for Brussels Belgium, to catch the Eurostar train for London.....img=https://photos.travellerspoint.com/935071/Img0135.jpg caption=GERMANY, NURNBERG. --]
